Amy Gaviglio, MS, CGC is a certified genetic counselor and public health genetics and genomics consultant who has been working in the Rare Disease and Newborn Screening arena for the past 17 years. She is currently a consultant, contractor, and advisor for a number of regional, national, and international organizations focused on rare diseases and newborn screening.
As a consultant, Amy works with organizations on initiatives aimed at increasing knowledge, research, and access for rare disease patients and their families through a combination of scientific and technical consulting and policy and advocacy support.

Maija Sands, MS, CGC is a certified genetic counselor with a focus on public health genetics, newborn screening, and rare disease. Maija collaborates with organizations to develop accessible genetics education, foster professional development within the field, and strengthen systems that support early diagnosis and equitable care for individuals with rare conditions. She is particularly interested in bridging communication gaps between laboratories, clinicians, and public health programs to enhance the impact of genetic services across communities.
